About My Behaviour Support
My Behaviour Support is a family-run, registered NDIS provider in Campbelltown. We visit people across South West and Western Sydney.
How Domenic Barca started My Behaviour Support
Domenic Barca founded My Behaviour Support. He brings a background in psychology, social work and training and assessment to the disability sector.
As a qualified behaviour support practitioner, he saw a need for more compassionate, thorough care. He wanted each client to have more independence, dignity and inclusion.
Our team has worked with hundreds of participants of all ages in homes, schools and senior living facilities. We work closely with families and providers on each person's goals.
Make a ReferralHow we approach positive behaviour support
Every participant is different, so we look at the whole person, including their environment, strengths and goals. Our strategies are practical and aim to improve quality of life.
We use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and the Capable Environment Framework. Our services include Functional Behaviour Assessment, Behaviour Support Plans, skill building and Family & Carer Training.
What this looks like day to day
- We start by asking why a behaviour happens, using interviews and observation.
- We look at the person's home, school and community, as well as the person.
- We build skills like communication, emotional regulation and independence.
- We coach families, carers and support staff so everyone responds the same way.
- We treat restrictive practices as a last resort and work to reduce them.
- We review the plan often and change it as needs change.
Our mission, vision and values
Our mission
Our practice is person-centred and strengths-based. Every plan starts with the person, their goals and the people around them.
Our vision
We want behaviour support to be easy to reach for people with disability across Sydney, so they can build the life they want.
Our values
We want support that helps in daily life. That means clear plans, honest advice and practitioners who take time to know each person and family.
The principles behind every plan
Dignity
We honour each person's background, culture and goals. Every participant should feel valued, included and treated fairly.
Respect
We welcome people from all walks of life. We listen without judgement, so people feel safe and heard.
Passion
We care about evidence-based support that helps day to day. We keep improving how we work.
Honesty
We are open and honest in everything we share. That helps participants feel in control of their own goals.
